Sri Sathya Sai baba said and I quote, “Education is for life and not for living.” However, modern day education emphasizes education for living and not for life. Education plays a pivotal role not only in shaping lives but also empowering individuals. The present curriculum aims for holistic development, focusing on 21st-century skills but we should not forget that the end of education is to build a strong character to make a strong nation. Our mission is embedded with the belief that each student has the potential to make a meaningful impact on the society following the mantra- Help Ever, Hurt Never. In other words, we can say that education should be heartifical and not artificial. The time has come to re-design our pattern of education where we need not merely produce mechanical humans devoid of human values. We should teach them the uniqueness of Indian culture, value system, karma theory etc. from the initial stage of learning. Education must also focus on the basic values of living in unity in a society. We need to understand that today we are family but tomorrow when our children will have families, they will become society for their own children. Let us teach our children the three very important values- Love for God, Fear of sin and Respect for the law of society. We at DC Model believe in preservation of nature- the ultimate creation of God. Through self-discipline, the voice of inner conscience and good deeds we can create better humans. We firmly believe in 5D's concept of devotion, discrimination between right and wrong, discipline, determination and duty. Besides this, our students have a deep faith in their teachers. Teacher community must gear up to face the challenges and educate the children to adopt 4F's in their lives i.e. follow the master, face the devil (prevailing evils in oneself or in the society), fight till end and finish the game. Together, we can bring change.
